ETICS tools and hardware bring together all the accessories needed to complete an external thermal insulation project: fixing shutters on the insulated façade, sealant and PU foam for finishing work, cutting discs, and guttering fittings for rainwater drainage. This category is aimed at façade contractors and ETICS installers as well as homeowners who carry out the finishing work on their project themselves.
Fixing a shutter on an externally insulated façade presents a particular challenge: passing through the insulation without creating a thermal bridge or weakening the fixing. The ITE ARKTIC hinge block addresses this need directly: this block of high-density CF200 expanded polystyrene (200 kg/m³) is built into the insulation system, in thicknesses of 120, 140, 160 and 180 mm and a 200 x 100 mm format, to match the exact thickness of the insulation installed on the façade. Pre-drilled with two stepped Ø10 mm holes with a 21 x 40 mm counterbore, it then receives the hinge pin by screwing or chemical anchoring once the render is finished. Its thermal conductivity of 0.046 W/(m.K) and compressive strength of 1.91 N/mm² make it a fixing point that is both insulating and robust, able to withstand the repeated stresses of a hinged shutter. All the shutter hardware is organised around this block: screw-in hinge pins in several pin diameters (8, 10, 14, 16 mm), insulated (ISO) hinge bodies for hinged shutters, shutter stops, bottom stops sold in bags of 4, and Décalé Volet Simadis offset kits to offset the fixing when the insulation thickness requires it. Façade contractors will find the same references they use on their everyday projects, to order in batches as the work progresses.
Beyond fixing the shutters, installing an ETICS system ends with a series of essential consumables. Berner ADM316B acrylic sealant, certified SNJF Façade 12.5%, treats cracks and finishing joints on porous substrates (concrete, render, plaster) and can be painted once dry, in a 310 ml cartridge compatible with standard guns. Polyurethane foam fills the joints between insulation boards without ever making up for insufficient insulation thickness, while Berner silicone, in anthracite or clear, seals joints exposed to the weather and to façade movement. The Berner stainless steel cutting disc 125 x 1.6 x 22.23 mm completes the cutting tools for the site’s profiles and metal accessories; fitting it requires personal protective equipment (goggles, gloves, ear protection). Galvanised guttering elbows and pipes (Ø80/100 mm with socket joint) and fixing brackets take over for rainwater drainage around the insulated façade, a point that is often overlooked on an external insulation project.
