The 2-metre Ø100 mm galvanised steel ‘Tulipe’ pipe is specially designed for the installation of rainwater drainage systems. Made from 0.65 mm thick galvanised steel, it offers excellent mechanical strength and good protection against corrosion. Its tulip-shaped socket facilitates the connection of different components and allows for quick installation on building sites. Compatible with 100 mm diameter zinc-plated fittings, it provides a reliable solution for both new builds and renovation projects.
In my view, galvanised pipe remains the most durable solution for an exposed rainwater downpipe, despite being heavier than PVC pipe. The flared end makes it easier to connect and minimises potential leak points.
