Description
The 30 mm thick Thermolan N50F rock wool panel is a rigid, single-density insulation material with an unfinished surface, designed for external thermal insulation (ETI) beneath render. It has a thermal resistance of R = 0.75 m².K/W and is installed by bonding and/or dowelling to masonry or concrete substrates. Naturally non-combustible, this rock wool panel provides a high level of fire safety whilst offering good thermal and acoustic insulation performance, for durable façades in both new-build and energy-efficient refurbishment projects.

The 30 mm-thick Thermolan N50F rock wool panel is a rigid, single-density insulation material designed for external wall insulation (EWI) beneath render. Designed for masonry and concrete façades, it can be installed in both new-build and energy-efficient refurbishment projects. Its rock wool composition, produced by melting basalt and limestone, gives it excellent fire performance – a fire safety criterion that is particularly sought after in buildings open to the public or in block of flats subject to strict regulatory requirements. With a thermal resistance of 0.75 m².K/W at a thickness of 30 mm, this panel ensures effective thermal insulation of façades, whilst providing the sound insulation qualities characteristic of rock wool, offering considerable comfort to the building’s occupants. Its installation, whether bonded and/or fixed with dowels in accordance with the specifications of the chosen ETICS system, forms part of a quality-assured process compliant with current technical approvals for external thermal insulation. The panel is then reinforced with a glass fibre mesh embedded in the undercoat render, prior to the application of the decorative façade finish. This rock wool panel is designed for façade contractors, external thermal insulation contractors and project managers seeking a non-combustible, durable and high-performance insulation solution for new-build or energy-efficient renovation projects where fire safety is a key selection criterion.
On this site, 30 mm N50F rock wool remains my choice when fire safety is a priority, particularly in multi-occupancy buildings. As it is heavier than EPS of the same thickness, it requires a slightly different handling process, which needs to be taken into account during the planning stage.
