Description
The LFM 10 anchor, 260 mm in length, is a mechanical drive-in fastener, comprising a polyethylene body and a galvanised steel nail, designed for the supplementary fixing of insulation boards in external wall insulation systems. It is certified under European Technical Assessment ETA-17/0450. Packaged in boxes of 100 pieces by the manufacturer Klimas France, it is suitable for insulation thicknesses of up to approximately 180 mm on new substrates, and helps to counteract wind suction forces on the insulated façade.
Technical specifications
Mechanical fixing of external wall insulation panels
Expanded polystyrene (EPS) and extruded polystyrene (XPS)
Mineral wool (with TDX-90/TDX-140 support washers)
Concrete and masonry (substrate categories A to E)
New-build
Energy-efficient refurbishment

The LFM 10-260 hammer-in anchor, manufactured by Klimas France, is a mechanical fastener designed to complement the bonding of insulation boards in external thermal insulation systems. Comprising a body made of virgin polyethylene and a galvanised steel nail with a polyamide-sealed head, it minimises localised thermal conductivity at each fixing point. This anchor has been awarded European Technical Assessment ETA-17/0450, issued by the Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik, which certifies its mechanical performance on the main types of substrates found on façades: concrete, solid brick, hollow brick, aerated concrete and lightweight concrete. With a diameter of 10 mm, a 60 mm flange and an anchorage depth of 70 mm, the LFM 10-260 is suitable for insulation panels made of expanded polystyrene, extruded polystyrene or mineral wool, used in conjunction with a suitable support washer, for insulation thicknesses of up to approximately 180 mm in new-build projects. Its function is to absorb wind suction forces on the insulated façade, serving as an essential complement to the bonding of the panels, in accordance with the number of fixings per square metre specified in the thermal analysis of the external thermal insulation system (ETIS). Packaged in cardboard boxes of 100 pieces, this certified anchor is designed for façade contractors and external thermal insulation contractors, for both new-build and energy-efficient refurbishment projects.
This 260 mm LFM 10 anchor, certified to ETA-17/0450, remains my go-to choice for mechanical fixing as a complement to adhesive bonding. Always calculate the required length using the ETA formula rather than estimating it; a sizing error here compromises the integrity of the entire external thermal insulation system.
